June 13: White-A-Thon raises $7,500 for Habitat for Humanity

“The White-A-Thon demonstrates how a business and the community can come together to improve the lives of many people. Smiles By Holsinger & Higgins and their patrons consistently come through for us. This year’s tremendous success is greatly appreciated, “ says Leslie Brome, executive director, Caroline County Habitat for Humanity.
Caroline County Habitat for Humanity will use the event’s proceeds to “frame up” homes at Lake Creek Court, a major subdivision in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Federalsburg. The program is based on Habitat’s “Operation Home Delivery,” better known as “House in a Box,” which was used to expedite the construction of homes for the families devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
